Biography
Dr. Dong is a full professor and principle investigator in Department of Plant Pathology, Nanjing Agricultural University. He received prestigious awards such as Chinese National Science Fund for Excellent Yong investigator, Investigator of National Thousand Youth Talents Plan, Youth Phytopathologist of Chinese Plant Pathology Society. Fascinated by the nature of plant disease from childhood. He published a total of 13 peer-review paper on prestigious journal such as Science、Current Biology、Nature Communications、Genome Biology、PLoS Pathogens as senior author. Meanwhile, he actively collaborated with several international groups and yielded more than 20 papers including two Science papers. All his papers received more than 2000 citations so far. He is now the executive head of Key Laboratory of Integrated Management of Crop Disease and Pests, the elected Senior Editor of Molecular Plant-Microbe Interaction (MPMI), members of American Phytopathology Society and International Oomycete Molecular Genetics Network (OMGN), deputy director of Youth Committee in both Chinese Protection Society and Chinese Plant Pathology Society. Dr. Dong was nominated as section presidents and invited to give talks in several prestigious international conference such as International Society of MPMI XVII Conference, International Conference on Plant Biotic Stress and OMGN.
Research Project
Dr. Dong focused on two topics for years: “Engineering Durable Resistance to Late Blight” and “Crop Disease Management on Big Data Basis”.
