Relationships between parasitoids and their host insects

Research description

There are many insect pests of crop plants, and each of pests is attacked by many of parasitoids. Some of attacks by parasitoids are effective and will kill the pest at last, some are not. So, in order to efficiently control insect pest with biological agents, the suitable parasitoid must be chosen based on well understanding relationships between insect pests and their parasitoids. My research focuses on the relationships between Trichogramma species and various insect pest hosts, such as Ostrina furnacali and Chilos suppressalis, and relationships between whitefly and Encarsia species, concerning the effect of Wolbachia.
