[Dr. Zhang received his bachelor degree and ph.D from Nanjing Agricultural University, he went to Sheng Yang He Lab in Michigan State University for plant defense related studies during his ph.D and then got a postdoc training in He Lab. Dr. Zhang became a faculty in college of Plant Protection, Nanjing Agricultural University in 2017.]
[Research in our laboratory is aimed at understanding how proteins interact each other to achieve the balance between defense and growth in plants. We use Arabidopsis and rice as mode to analysis the jasmonate signaling pathway related proteins to be fine-mediated to reveal the switch between activation and repression. We also use biochemistry and structure biology to elucidate the mechanism crosstalk between jasmonate and plant hormones. Our lab another interest is biology and chemistry management for pathogens which have high risk not only to human health, but also to agricultural production. We analysis the pathogenicity and growth related genes in Fusarium and Xanthomonas to develop the innovative strategies to control these two pathogens development. ]
